Car noises, underground metros, emergency sirens... Paris is a city where silence is rare. Silentscape - Paris is a record of the sounds of Parisian streets in order to find some silent spaces. Placed in one of the most contrasted areas of Paris - the 18th district -, the maps are showing decibels levels from 45dB to >75dB. They reveal our cultural and political relation to the silence within the urban context. This research, combined with sound level maps, is an invitation to a discrete urban experience.
